Igniting Hope, One Child at a Time

The Christmas season, for many, is synonymous with joy, warmth, and togetherness. At the Citrus County Family Resource Center, we hold close the belief that every child, regardless of their circumstances, should experience the magic of Christmas.

However, the reality is that countless children in our community face the prospect of an empty Christmas tree, not by choice, but due to circumstances beyond their control. Families grappling with the essentials—keeping the lights on or ensuring their kids don't sleep hungry—often find the holiday season more daunting than delightful.

The Christmas Project aims to change that narrative.

Gift a Dream

Presents under the tree

Every year, through the collective efforts of our community, we aim to ensure that no child goes without Christmas. With the unwavering support of our volunteers, sponsors and donors we have successfully brightened the holidays for nearly 2000 children every year.

The Last day of The Christmas Project will be Wednesday December 18th 2024

How it Works

Sponsor A Child:
  • Sponsors are presented with a letter detailing a child's  wishes and wants . This ensures that gifts are personal and tailored to the child.
General Donations:
  • Some benefactors opt to donate universally appealing gifts—be it coloring books, toys, or essentials like socks and underwear. These are reserved for children identified closer to the holiday or those without direct sponsors.
Group Sponsorship:
  • Embracing the true spirit of Christmas, several groups and businesses in recent years have chosen collective sponsorship. Instead of traditional gift exchanges, they come together to pool resources and bring joy to a child's heart.
Connect and Contribute:
  • Ready to spread some festive cheer? Register your intent to sponsor a child, or contribute to our mission.
