About Us

What is the Family Resource Center?

The center is managed by a full time administrator, Ginger West, under the guidance of the Advisory Board of Directors. The Connections outreach center is managed by Nikki Canary  Both buildings are staffed  by a wonderful crew of volunteers.  Last year (2018), 539 volunteers worked 30,442.50 hours.

The resources we have to offer are: parent education classes on behavior management and communication, lending library with materials about family life, baby furniture loan out, information and referral services, a warm line, work experience for handicapped students, a web site , a bike to work program, food pantry, clothes closet and a separate full service homeless outreach center that includes food, showers, entertainement, etc.

Through a local grant we are able to offer cancer screening to those who are unable to pay for the screening We are also a partner with the health department for on site medical services.

Most people hear about us in the fall of every year because of the "Sponsor A Child For Christmas Project". The project provides gifts to children who are in need and under the protection of the state. These children may be in foster care, shelter, protective supervision, subsidized child care or are housed in the spouse abuse shelter, or are being seen by a school social worker.
